NVIDIA has scheduled GTC 2027 for 14 to 18 March at the McEnery Convention Center and other San Jose venues, and large downtown events have closed nearby streets such as San Carlos Street for days at a time. Orders already placed go out as scheduled, so keep stock in hand before that week or time arrival for after it, and give us a side entrance if your block is affected.

After the City's Building Division signs off. A reclassified suite is ready once it holds its certificate of occupancy from final inspection, or an endorsed temporary occupancy letter kept on site. Register the extra location on your Business Tax Certificate account with the Finance Department too, then send us the address and a named signer; from then on every lot is logged against that suite.

PG&E warned of a power shutoff near our East San Jose office with an order on the road. What happens?

A shutoff notice does not call the shipment back. Should the carrier be unable to deliver, it keeps the package, and we watch the tracking and phone the signer named on your account. When a shipper reaches your San Jose suite with no dry ice remaining, we send a replacement; any other delay is refunded or not according to whether the exosome material held its temperature in transit.

When an order reaches a San Jose practice

Frozen material bound for a San Jose suite makes the long trip from Florida, and the panel above gives the usual transit window for it. In the city centre, the convention calendar decides which weekdays a driver can get to the curb. NVIDIA has set GTC 2027 for 14 to 18 March at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on West San Carlos Street and at venues around the city.

The San José Police Department showed what a large event does to those blocks when it posted its Super Bowl LX advisory on 26 January 2026. San Carlos Street between South Almaden Boulevard and South Market Street was shut in both directions from 2 to 9 February, Barack Obama Boulevard between Santa Street and San Fernando Street from 4 to 5 February, and East Santa Clara Street from 4th to 8th Street from 4 to 8 February.

No order is paused for a San Jose closure. A box the driver cannot hand over sits with the carrier until the street reopens, so an office that expects to close for an event week should place its order after reopening.

Cold-chain receiving at a San Jose address

San Jose heat builds late in the year. The airport station logs the most days topping 90°F in September, so a shipper left in sun on a loading dock or inside a shut suite mailroom on an early autumn afternoon loses dry ice quickly, and the sublimating ice releases carbon dioxide that should not build up in a small room.

Power at a San Jose suite comes from two parties. San José Clean Energy, the City's own program, has been the default generator for businesses since March 2019, while PG&E still carries the electricity over its lines and sends the bill. In PG&E's October 2019 shutoff, 14 circuits listing San Jose among their communities, some shared with Mount Hamilton and Coyote, went dark on the night of 9 October and came back on 10 or 11 October. The named signer checks that some dry ice is left, writes down the arrival time and the lot, and keeps vials at -20°C for long storage, or at 4°C after thawing, following the manufacturer's handling sheet.

Rules that apply to a San Jose order

Every person or company doing business in San José registers for a Business Tax Certificate and pays within 90 days of starting. The tax then falls due each year on the 15th of the starting month, with a 25% penalty once that date passes and a further 25% a month later, and the certificate stays posted at the office.
The Finance Department says its certificate is not approval for zoning, fire rules or occupancy. Under Building Bulletin #215, a commercial space needs a certificate of occupancy on file before anyone uses it, and an interior build-out that changes the occupancy classification needs a new one, issued by the building inspector after final inspection and posted on the premises.
Where a San José suite must open before its project is finished, the Building Division can endorse a request letter so that it serves as temporary occupancy approval (Bulletin #216), and no one may occupy the space until that endorsed letter is on site. Such a suite is added to our delivery records only after that endorsement.
Evacuation notices for a San José address can arrive through AlertSCC or through the City's Genasys Protect zones, which narrow a warning to the neighborhood; the app follows up to 10 locations, so the receiving signer can track both the clinic and home.

Cities on San Jose's boundary with their own rules

Santa Clara and Mountain View receive on the carrier lane San Jose uses, yet a San José Business Tax Certificate covers neither. Santa Clara, across San Jose's western city line, draws electricity from Silicon Valley Power, its city-owned utility, so a PG&E or San José Clean Energy announcement is silent about a suite on that side. Mountain View has a new business file its license papers at City Hall and pay the license tax before it opens, rather than within a window afterwards as San José allows.
