Exosome supply for San Diego and La Jolla practices

A San Diego or La Jolla practice approved for a wholesale account can buy biomolecular signaling vesicles (exosomes), sent frozen from Florida and carried west to the Pacific coast by a national carrier. California has not yet granted our pharmacy partner its state licence, so compounded 503A preparations stay unavailable to every California address, San Diego included, while that application is pending.

When an order reaches a San Diego or La Jolla practice

The transit window in the panel above covers the trip from Florida to a San Diego street address. What changes the last mile here is one downtown event and the autumn fire weather.

During Comic-Con 2026, Harbor Drive was closed to every kind of vehicle between First Avenue and Park Boulevard, in front of the convention center, from Wednesday afternoon of Preview Night through Sunday evening, and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The 2027 convention runs 22 to 25 July, so suites in the blocks around the center should expect slow access that week.

Santa Ana weather is the second cause. On 2 October 2026, SDG&E began Public Safety Power Shutoffs in specific communities as extreme heat and Santa Ana winds raised the wildfire risk, and it lists the communities affected at sdge.com/ready. A practice that finds its community on that list, or receives an AlertSanDiego evacuation notice, places its order after power and access return. We do not pause dispatch for local closures; a box already on the road stays with the carrier until delivery is possible.

Cold-chain receiving at a San Diego or La Jolla address

San Diego heat arrives after the summer holidays. At Lindbergh Field the NOAA normals count 7.8 days of 80°F or more in September, about twice the July count of 3.8, and still 5.5 in October. Suites away from the bay run warmer: the Miramar station records a normal August high of 82.4°F and five days of 90°F or more in September, so a shipper waiting on an inland dock in early autumn loses dry ice faster than one by the water.

Curbside delivery has its own clock. Under section 86.0119 of the San Diego Municipal Code, a commercial vehicle may spend at most 20 minutes loading or unloading goods in a commercial loading zone, which applies from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. unless signs say otherwise. A driver at a La Jolla Village storefront therefore cannot wait long, so the account should name a signer who comes to the door. That person confirms dry ice is left, writes down arrival time and lot, and moves the vials to a freezer at -20°C, or 4°C once thawed, per the manufacturer.

Rules that apply to a San Diego or La Jolla order

  • Section 31.0121 of the San Diego Municipal Code bars anyone from doing business in the city before obtaining a Business Tax Certificate from the City Treasurer, and section 31.0130 requires a separate certificate for each business location. A group with one office downtown and another in La Jolla therefore holds two, each posted at its premises.
  • The Development Services Department issues a Certificate of Occupancy when a tenant build-out first occupies a shell building or when work changes the occupancy classification, and no part of the structure may be used before it is issued. A suite built out from shell should join the account as a delivery address only after that certificate, or a temporary one, is in hand.
  • La Jolla addresses are inside the City of San Diego, so its Business Tax Certificate and municipal code apply there. The city's La Jolla plan notes that the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and part of UC San Diego, which divide the northern section of the planning area from the rest of La Jolla, fall outside city jurisdiction.

Areas near San Diego and La Jolla on the same lane

Coronado and Del Mar take deliveries on the same national lane as San Diego, but each is its own city, and the City Treasurer states that a San Diego certificate does not cover business in another jurisdiction. Coronado ended its business license tax in 2019 and now charges a flat $25 a year, plus a $4 state fee, for a business certificate renewed by 1 January. Del Mar requires a business license of every business operating in the city, including one that uses a PO box addressed to Del Mar.

Preguntas sobre San Diego and La Jolla

Our office is a block from the San Diego Convention Center. What should we do in Comic-Con week?
Plan around 21 to 25 July 2027. In 2026 Harbor Drive between First Avenue and Park Boulevard was closed to vehicles for the whole convention, so a delivery that week may come late or by another street. Orders are not paused once placed, so order the week before or after, and keep a named recipient on the account who can meet a driver at an unusual hour.
Our La Jolla Village suite has no loading dock, only a commercial loading zone at the curb. Does that matter for delivery?
It shortens the window. The city lets a commercial vehicle load or unload goods in a commercial loading zone for no more than 20 minutes, so the driver needs someone who answers quickly. A box that reaches you with its dry ice gone is replaced, and whether another delay earns a refund depends on whether the material stayed at a controlled temperature the whole way.
SDG&E has listed our San Diego community for a power shutoff. Should we still order?
Wait until power is back and your freezer has returned to temperature, because we do not hold an order after it is placed. If a shipment is already moving, it stays with the carrier, and we check with your named recipient that someone can sign and that cold storage is running before it is delivered.
