Exosome supply for Boston and Wellesley practices
Licensed practices in Boston and Wellesley that hold an approved wholesale account receive biomolecular signaling vesicles (exosomes), which ship frozen from Florida and reach Massachusetts by carrier on the national lane. Until the pharmacy partner's Massachusetts licence comes through, compounded 503A preparations are not offered to any address in the state, so an account here covers exosome material alone.

When an order reaches a Boston or Wellesley practice
Frozen exosome material leaves Florida and travels the national lane to Massachusetts, landing at a Boston or Wellesley suite within the transit window in the panel above. Snow is the usual cause of a late Boston delivery. When the mayor declares a snow emergency, parking is banned on posted emergency arteries and cars left there are ticketed and towed; the ban declared for the morning of Sunday 25 January 2026 ran until 8 p.m. the next evening, after about 19 inches fell, and City Hall stayed shut through that Monday. A carrier holding a package during a ban keeps it in its own network until streets clear, and we do not pause an order already placed, so an office expecting a snow closure orders after it reopens.
Marathon Monday falls on 19 April 2027. In Wellesley the 2026 race closed Central Street (Route 135) from the Natick line to Grove Street and Washington Street (Route 16) from Grove Street to the Newton line, from 8:30 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m., and Route 9 was the only way for a vehicle to cross. In Back Bay the city posted no stopping on both sides of Boylston Street between Exeter and Dartmouth streets from 9 to 24 April 2026.
The end of August is the other slow stretch: the Boston Transportation Department issued more than 2,500 moving truck permits for 29 August to 1 September 2026.
Cold-chain receiving at a Boston or Wellesley address
Many Back Bay and downtown Boston buildings were put up before the zoning code asked for off-street loading docks, so a driver unloads from the street at the front entrance. City traffic rules allow a vehicle in a loading zone no more than 30 minutes, unless a sign posts otherwise, for actual loading and unloading. That leaves little time to find a signer, so the account names who meets the driver, the entrance to use and the floor.
Summer is mild by comparison: the normal July high at Logan is 82°F. A shipper still should not wait in a closed building mailroom, because sublimating dry ice gives off carbon dioxide. On arrival the named signer checks that dry ice remains, notes the time and lot number, and freezes the vials. Stock goes to -20°C for long storage and to 4°C after thawing, as the manufacturer's handling sheet sets out.
Rules that apply to a Boston or Wellesley order
- A Boston business operating under a trade name files a business certificate with the City Clerk, for $65, and renews it every four years from the first filing. Under Massachusetts General Laws chapter 110, section 5, a late renewal costs up to $100 a month, capped at $300.
- Inspectional Services issues a Boston certificate of occupancy only after its Buildings Division and the Boston Fire Department, which runs a life safety inspection, both sign off, and a change in a space's use can call for a new one. A newly converted Boston suite joins the account as a delivery address once that certificate is issued.
- Wellesley is its own town in Norfolk County, so a Wellesley practice files its business certificate with the Wellesley Town Clerk, for $60 and for four years, rather than with Boston's City Clerk.
Places bordering Boston and Wellesley with their own rules
Brookline and Cambridge receive on the same Massachusetts lane as Boston, but each keeps its own clerk. Brookline is a separate town in Norfolk County, and anyone trading there under another name files a DBA certificate with the Brookline Town Clerk. Cambridge, across the Charles River, takes business certificates at its City Clerk's office on Massachusetts Avenue for $50, valid for four years. A Brookline or Cambridge suite should watch that municipality's own notices in a storm, since AlertBoston speaks for Boston streets.
Boston and Wellesley questions
- Our Back Bay practice is in a brownstone with no loading dock. How does a frozen shipper get to us?
- The driver stops at the curb, usually in an on-street loading zone where Boston traffic rules allow up to 30 minutes for unloading unless signs say otherwise. Give us the entrance, the floor and a named signer who is in the building during your receiving window, so the box goes straight from the street to someone who can open it and move the vials to a freezer.
- Our Wellesley office is on Central Street. Should we order around the Boston Marathon?
- Yes. The 2027 race runs on Monday 19 April, and in 2026 Wellesley closed Central Street from the Natick line to Grove Street, and Washington Street east to the Newton line, from 8:30 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m., with Route 9 the only vehicle crossing. Placed orders are not held, so have stock in hand before the weekend or order for arrival after the closures lift.
- Boston declared a snow emergency after our order shipped. What happens to the package?
- The carrier keeps a package it cannot deliver inside its network until the streets are passable, and we follow the tracking and contact the person named on the account. If the shipper arrives in Boston with its dry ice fully sublimated, we replace it. A refund for any other delay depends on whether the exosome material stayed temperature-controlled throughout.
