Exosome supply for Baltimore practices
Once its wholesale account is verified, a Baltimore practice can order biomolecular signaling vesicles (exosomes) for topical aesthetic use by licensed practitioners. Orders travel frozen from Florida on the Maryland carrier lane, and winter snow emergencies cause most of the delays here.

When an order reaches a Baltimore practice
Carrier delivery to a Baltimore address falls inside the transit window in the panel above, and winter brings the longest holds. In the January 2026 storm, the Mayor declared a State of Emergency on 23 January and the City's Emergency Operations Center was activated.
During that storm, parking was restricted along every snow emergency route around the clock so crews could plow curb to curb. Illegally parked cars could be ticketed and towed. A driver on such a route may have nowhere to stop, so an office facing one should put a side street or rear entrance in the delivery instructions on the account.
If a storm shuts the office mid-transit, the carrier keeps the carton until delivery is possible, and its tracking number shows the named signer where it waits. A placed order leaves Florida as usual, so a practice expecting a snow closure should order once it reopens. Summer brings the opposite problem, with Baltimore-Washington International at 101°F on 2 July 2026 and 102°F on each of the next two days.
Cold-chain receiving at a Baltimore address
Baltimore City makes homeowners and businesses responsible for clearing their own sidewalks. The path must be at least 2 feet wide and cleared within three hours after the snow stops. Snow ending between 3 p.m. and 6 a.m. must be cleared by 11 a.m. A business that does not shovel faces a $100 fine, so a rowhouse office or a downtown tenant should agree with the landlord on who clears the walk.
On a 102°F day like 3 July 2026, a carton should not sit in a hot entry hall or a car outside the rowhouse. Whoever signs in Baltimore confirms some dry ice is left, notes the lot number and the time the driver arrived, and gets the vials into a freezer without waiting. A Baltimore freezer holds exosome material at -20°C for the long term and thawed vials at 4°C, following the manufacturer's handling instructions. Open the shipper beside a window or exterior door.
Rules that apply to a Baltimore order
- Baltimore City has been separate from Baltimore County since 1851 and ranks as a county jurisdiction in its own right. City agencies issue occupancy permits and the Mayor declares local emergencies, with no county government above them.
- Under City Code Article 32, Section 5-704, a use permit is required before anyone occupies a new structure or changes the authorized use of land or a structure. The same applies before occupying a building left unoccupied for more than a year. Section 5-703 has the Zoning Administrator authorize the permit and the Housing Commissioner issue it.
- The Department of Housing and Community Development handles Use and Occupancy permits through its E-Permits System, and they also cover ownership changes and tenant changes. A new Baltimore suite should not be listed as a delivery address until a Use and Occupancy permit covering the practice is in hand.
Baltimore County and Towson, outside Baltimore City
Baltimore County borders the City on the same Maryland lane but is a separate charter county with its seat in Towson. A City Use and Occupancy permit does not cover an office there. BMORE Alert is built for people who live, work or travel in Baltimore City, and a county office needs its own registration. Bethesda practices share the Maryland lane but sit in Montgomery County, whose emergency orders and permits apply there instead.
Baltimore questions
- Our Baltimore office faces a snow emergency route. Where should the driver stop during a declared snow emergency?
- During the January 2026 State of Emergency, parking was restricted along every snow emergency route around the clock, and illegally parked vehicles could be ticketed and towed. Put a side street, alley or rear entrance in the account's delivery instructions, and name a signer who will be in. If the carton still reaches your Baltimore suite with its dry ice gone, it is replaced. Any other delay may be refunded, depending on whether the exosome material stayed temperature-controlled.
- We are moving our practice from Towson into Baltimore City. Does our occupancy approval carry over?
- No. Baltimore City and Baltimore County have been separate jurisdictions since 1851, so County approvals do not apply in the City. A tenant change or a change in use calls for a City Use and Occupancy permit, authorized by the Zoning Administrator and issued by the Housing Commissioner. The new suite should not be listed as a delivery address until that permit is in hand.
- Snow stopped at 2 a.m. outside our Baltimore rowhouse office. By when must the sidewalk be clear for a delivery?
- By 11 a.m. Baltimore City gives property owners three hours after the snow stops, except that snow ending between 3 p.m. and 6 a.m. must be cleared by 11 a.m. Leave a path at least 2 feet wide, since businesses face a $100 fine for not shoveling. Agree with your landlord on who clears the walk, and keep the signer's number current on the account.
