Orders go out regardless of the tide, so plan an order to arrive on a day without a high tide, and keep someone in the suite to sign. If the dry ice has sublimated by the time it arrives, we replace the package.

The California Geological Survey places the Balboa Peninsula, Lido Isle and Balboa Island in the tsunami hazard area, and Newport Notified sends evacuation alerts for those streets. A shipment on the road is held by the carrier until the evacuation lifts. We replace one that arrives after its dry ice has sublimated, and any other delay is refunded or not according to whether the material stayed within its controlled temperature.

The city's king tide advisory for 13 to 16 June 2026 named Newport Island, Balboa Island, the Finley Tract, Lido Village, Balboa Village and the Peninsula as the areas most likely to see street flooding. City crews set flood gap boards on Balboa Island and posted traffic-control signs, and a delivery route through those streets can run late on a king tide morning. A practice in one of those areas checks the tide table before it orders.

From July 3 to July 6 in 2026 the city ran Safety Enhancement Zones with triple fines in West Newport and Corona del Mar. On the morning of July 4 the Fourth of July Is for Families bike parade set off at 9 a.m. from West Balboa Boulevard and 36th Street, and the city warned that it may close or detour streets when needed. A holiday closure does not put an order on hold, and a package that is already en route remains in the carrier's hands until the streets reopen, so a Peninsula or Corona del Mar practice orders well before the holiday weekend or after it.
